In the previous article, we wrote about how life is not a sprint, but a long-distance event.

In today's society, we are used to seeing only success, victories, beauty and glamour.

It seems that everything is easy — and, by comparison, that we are the only ones struggling.

Well, we're not.

And if we take the positive side of all the people who show us their success, how can we let them inspire us?

I usually say in my sessions that life is like climbing a mountain.

Sometimes the path is flat and the weather is sunny. Other times, the terrain is rough and the weather is cold. Sometimes the views are amazing; other times, everything is covered in fog.

But one thing remains constant when you are climbing that mountain: you are progressing towards what was once your ambition.

People who achieve their goals tend to understand something similar. They know that not every day is going to be nice and shiny. They know that difficult days are part of the journey towards their main goal.

So how do they sustain their progress? Why can't I be that positive and motivated?

There are plenty of techniques, but one has no substitute: alignment.

Whatever you think you want or need to do needs to be aligned with your inner self and your priorities. Otherwise, in the long term, it won't last.

In coaching, we give you the time, the space and the support to reconnect with yourself and establish your main goals, with S.M.A.R.T. — Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound — steps to help you achieve them.

Alignment will keep you fuelled, while organic planning will help you find a pace you can sustain.
