How many times, especially in moments of stress, do we tend to think:
I am not doing enough!
My life is a mess!
I need to hustle more!
This is perfectly normal. Like most achievers, we always want more.
More experiences, more sensations, or even more status.
All things we may strive for.
So why am I writing about finding our rhythm? Shouldn't we just shut up and get to work?
We could... but as I say in cycling jargon, life is not a sprint. It's an ultra-distance event.
Sprints may be necessary sometimes, but they shouldn't become your default rule.
If you are always sprinting for a long time, you will almost certainly break. Otherwise, you weren't going fast enough for it to be a sprint in the first place!
So, with coaching, what we work on is preparing you for your own "ultra-distance race", so that you can reach the finish line and achieve the results you want.
And how do we do that? Do we have a magic solution? A pill? A super-duper technique?
No. It's all on you.
What are your priorities? What are your ambitions? How can we align the two?
How can we prioritise over time? What "fuel" do you need to make sure you don't run out along the way? Who can support you?
You may say: if it's all on me, why can't I do it alone?
There are multiple reasons, and none of them are about you lacking something.
Sometimes, simply having the time and the company to explore all this — at your own rhythm, without someone telling you what to do — can make all the difference.
